Data consumption bangs revenues for Verizon

Data packages for telecommunication companies have become the prime source of revenues. With $G LTE technology many users have switched their preference to companies like VZ in order to bang revenues. The companies are constantly trying to come up with better and tailored packages that suit consumer wants. The internet is more of a necessity now than a luxury, thus the trend is likely to grow only with time. And thus with this growth, telecommunication are likely to accelerate to new heights.
VZ’s earning particularly of this quarter rose up to 4.3 percent which is quite steady and promising.  The rise in the earning primarily accounted for the mobile data packages. The company recently reduced the prices of their data plans which showed a great improvement in their revenues as compared to the previous trimestral. Consumers have started to use these plans for more video calls etc. hence the usage has affected positively on their revenues.

Usually what subscribers do is that they make their package as a hotspot and connect various devices to it this also helps the company in streaming revenues. On average it is said that one subscriber actually connects three other devices to it which directly helps them to make 3.9 percent push in general. According to estimates around 1.5 million subscribers have been added to pay for services after they have been consumed. This implies to the postpaid customers only. This actually beats the consensus made by Wall Street which believed that there would be 1 million consumers.
"Overall it was a good quarter for Verizon in terms of new additions. It is still a very competitive landscape and the fourth quarter could be challenging on a margin front as you look at a promotional period with a new iPhone," claimed Angelo Zino, who is an analyst at S&P Capital IQ headquartered in New York.
This year it has been calculated that people have started to use almost 50 percent more data to what they were consuming earlier and a catalyst in this is the video calls which are now immensely popular. VZ believes that they were quite out of the market previously but now with such moves that ensure a steady future, they are satisfied with how their strategy has worked out for them.

The company is in good shape now provided they continue to offer benefits to their consumers.

Microsoft can’t just hold on to PowerPoint

PowerPoint has lost the limelight it earlier had. Previously all presentation related work depended on MSFT’s PowerPoint since it was the game changer back then but since time has passed Prezi has taken over PowerPoint resulting in another decline for the company. The company is well aware of this decline and thus for the same reason they plan to put an end to this decline.  MSFT plans to launch Microsoft Sway which will again turn the ball in their court.
This application will be extreme distinct in nature and cater to all the presentation related needs of the tech savvy generation. The features of this application would be drop and drag of videos, photos, files and other media forms from Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other cloud storage devices. The application can be used through web browsers or mobile phones but the data/presentations will be stored on the web only.
The company acknowledged various forums about launching such an application in October but in November 2014 thus company gave a brief introduction about the features of this application.  The company ensures users that they have played quite a lot with the application and have ensured to make it easy to use.  The software will not only cater to presentation related needs but also make it a better experience for users.
The application will also be fun and kinky. The company has offered it similar mechanisms like Google’s ‘I feel lucky button’. The app will let you change backgrounds according to your mood and add more glamour to the overall experience.
The company in its demo trailer launch did not really succeed in making its users cling on to the application. Although the application is vibrant and fun but it does not currently boast of any such feature which would attract users. Currently it is said that Prezi is used by almost 80 percent of the world. The Fortune 500 companies mostly relying on Prezi for their presentation needs. Thus this way they have turned PowerPoint down
Hence in a nutshell, MSFT Sway has a huge task on its shoulder since it has a massive audience to attract now. If the company fails to deliver then there might not just be any way left to redeem their position.

The beginning of a new era for Tesla

TSLA has initiated a new wave among car lovers who want to put their hands on the electrical SUV’s. Previously assumptions had been created among people that TSLA is not really doing quite well but now things have changed as the company succeeds in fighting back for its diminishing position. The Tesla Model S cars have resulted in a lot of good fortune for the company, after the Model S have paved their way to massive success hence many people are now willing to spend on TSLA all over again.
Thus the company now is all set to make a comeback and for this purpose they are now focusing on more electrical SUV’s other than the Model S Sedan. It is expected that considering the popularity of TSLA’s car, other company will now be working to produce and electrical version of Porche “Pajun” Sedan.  This is not it, it is expected that Land Rover will also work on making the electrical version for Land Rover.
This claim was made by Autocar  which  stated that Land rover is now planning to have their cars operated with batteries. This will primarily be a small crossover, by now the company has not really worked on making their original Land Rover’s battery operated.

The company knows that their full sized cars are not really the electrical type but are working on small cars which can use this technology. Since still people would prefer having their alternate cars being electrical.
Similarly, Land Rover has the same ideology. They plan to launch their cars which would be similar in size to a Jaguar XJ. The target market for this hypothetical plug in SUV would be basically United States and China. The issue that bothers critics is that currently no Land Rover is aerodynamic, and in order to match the upcoming version of TSLA’s Model X this is necessary.
The competition for TSLA does not really end with Porche and Land Rover but sources also uncover that Audi is also working on their electrically powered SUV’s. Audi is all set to enter the market by 2017.
The challenging task is not Audi launching their electrical SUV’s but the problem is with Labd Rover who would have to completely rupture the prior image and come up with a completely different product which they have not experimented earlier. On the other hand TSLA needs to be cautious since there is massive completion down the lane.

Facebook controlling mindsets

FB has created a mafia that is dominating the way people think and govern their living. Initially people used to rely on newspaper as hardcore form of resource to extract knowledge but now things have changed to a great extent. Majority of people now go to external links provided on FB to acquire information on almost any topic. The company this way is making massive revenues and their income is quadrupling.
Many companies understand, that the future lies in social media and for the same reason many companies have diverted their focus on it. Even publishers understand this and many big firms that are associated to publishing have started to use it as their forum of communication. Most of the browsing we do now is through social mediums. Usually potential users see a link with a catchy title and thus opt for it.  Now focus is to make FB the medium to govern publicizing. With the way things are progressing on social forums it can be said that further no post, video, gif will actually opt for any other forum.

This became a massive deal when New York Times published that FB itself is in contract with many publishers in order to become the host of its pages on its own. Facebook has succeeded in making its mobile application popular among the masses and most of the browsing is now done through this forum. Considering this, they now want to make publishing in such a manner that people don’t opt for anything else. They login and get access directly to quality content. For this they require collaboration with publishers and thus will also share revenues with them.
The concept which Facebook is trying to market to alien is kind of alien to them. They understand that through this they would apparently lose their identity. This might be depicted as a partnership at first but eventually they might just kill their individuality and lose their stance in the market. The problem that publishers will face now is that if they turn this offer down then there are chances that they would hamper their terms with the Facebook with no company in pure sanity would want. But if they agree then it will be their choice to bid their identity away. Both situations are a tough call for them. FB on the other hand is constantly paving its way to success.

Verizon to offer Netflix to its users for free

Netflix, which has been the largest provider of on demand Internet streaming media whether it is movies or any TV shows, is reporting worse than expected earnings in recent times. Hence, Verizon is planning to add Netflix’s streaming services along with their pay TV packages. It is believed that both of the companies are still a potential threat to the traditional pay TV model. Recently, Verizon has added Netflix in its streaming based list and has signed a deal with Netflix. The deal is believed to be limited as it will expire on November 1.

The geographical location to first introduce this service is New York City area. Fool.com believes that “the deal points toward a testing phase in which Verizon's management weighs demand before deciding on a nationwide rollout. In addition to a year of Netflix, you get a free $150 Visa gift card, 75/75 Internet, and 195 HD channels for $79.99 per month.”
The analysts believe that this particular deal requires a two year contract but as Netflix results perceive at the moment, it is expected that Netflix will only be good for the first year. This deal is said to be a competitor of AT&T which signed Amazon a while ago. AT&T published that “AT&T offers its new $39-per-month U-verse bundle with Amazon Prime and HBO. And while AT&T's service appears cheaper, it appears not to offer as many channels (roughly 90, versus the 195 HD that Verizon boasts of) and a data cap of 250 GB per month (additional data is $50 per 10GB).” AT&T believes that Verizon along with Netflix is nowhere near the company’s deal with Amazon.

Analysts expect that the good days might come again for both Netflix and Amazon after signing contracts with Verizon and AT&T respectively. However, in the longer run, Netflix will prove to be more advantageous for itself, VZ, and the users because of its features and credibility.
In a nutshell, after announcing that Verizon and AT&T will offer Netflix and Amazon Prime for free, it has positioned the future of cable television in serious jeopardy.

What’s Better Facebook or Orkut?

In this online world, the majority of us have started socializing via Orkut. It was the time when Facebook was not introduced and had not started to dominate the market. While most of us are still unaware about the heart excruciating mail sent by Google to Orkut users telling them about the final termination of the social media platform, which was once the first ever social networking site where socializing was possibly done quite easily.
For everyone Orkut is considered to be an old school and now most of us don’t even remember our login credentials, but believe it or not the fact is this that Facebook is not better than Orkut. The features, which proved Orkut to be the best social networking forum are as follows:
·        Facebook theme is designed in such a manner that it cannot be modified according to the user's choice. Orkut have introduced multiple themes and layouts, as the user can do the setting and decor their profile according to their moods.

·        In this era online chat can be done conveniently, but beside Skype and Viber,  Orkut was the first one who took this initiative of promoting the video chat option and it  was a successful venture.
·        Facebook is now occupied with, apps and advertisements, that is actually killing the user's interest. These sponsored activities might be profitable for FB itself, but there is no use of these to the users. When the comparison between Orkut and Facebook was done, it has been highlighted that Orkut was a classical choice that allowed a clutter free experience.
 ·    In terms of privacy, Orkut had a crisp privacy setting with a cleaner layout. With ease the users could simply go to the settings option and make the changes according to their needs.
Till September 2014, Orkut our first social networking site will be with us and after that the final closure will take place. Make Your Choice! Either Facebook or Orkut.
